Roy is a relative and old school friend. His grandmother was grandfather’s sister, Margaret b1881. She married Francis John Maguire and their daughter was Roy’s mother. Roy has done a lot of work on his family tree and has provided copies of photos of gt grandfather and his wife as well as other memorabilia.
Roy was a Fleet St journalist and is a published author. He and his wife Sylvia live in rural Shropshire.

Mrs. Brooker is a very experienced genealogist who lives near Alnwick in Northumberland. She has done researching on my behalf. Her reports are always very fully documented with all sources noted in support of her reasoning and conclusions.

I do not know if there are other LSCs in other towns but the one in Shields is very good. Requests for information are dealt with promptly and fees are very reasonable. There is a ‘Storer’ file in which any references in newspapers, census returns, trade directories etc are kept. Mr. Hollerton has been my main contact and is unfailingly helpful.

The Society has a huge amount of local information to offer in publications, micro fiche records etc. They also offer a search service. Members receive a quarterly journal and can have queries published when seeking information re their own FH.
